There are many people who are aware of how popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time was back during the early 90’s. its been at least 30 years since TMNT: Turtles in Time was released in arcade centers worldwide and three decades later its considered to be one of the greatest beat em up fighting titles of all-time. There were many people who were attracted by the 2D level designs and multiplayer gameplay which allowed up to four players simultaneously with characters like Michelangelo, Leonardo, Donatello and Raphael. Even though, we have seen numerous TMNT beat em up games during the 00’s on game systems like the PS2 and Gamecube they have not been nearly as popular as Turtles in Time from 1992. However, many would go one record and argue that TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge that came out back in June 2022 is a game that not only pays homage to Turtles in Time but it also exceeds the game in terms of overall quality. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge had superior art design in comparison to Turtles in Time and allowed up to six players both locally and online in terms of multiplayer gameplay. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge has a total of three scenes along with sixteen different levels with additional playable characters outside of the turtle brothers including April O’ Neal, Master Splinter and Casey Jones. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge is game that has received nothing but great reviews from old-school and modern gamers alike mainly because it feels like a legit spiritual successor to Turtles in Time from 1992. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge arguably an even better game than Streets of Rage 4 from 2020 which is quite possibly one of the greatest 2D beat em up games that we have seen in many years.
