Upcoming Games- Contra Rouge Corps: (2019)

As far as upcoming games are concerned many people were shocked and excited to find that Konami will finally release another Contra game later this year. The cool thing about Contra Rouge Corps is the fact that the setting for the game will take place several years following the events of Contra III : Alien Wars which was popular back in the early 90’s following its release in 1992. It should also be noted that Contra: Rouge Corps will have similar gameplay to Alien Wars with the top down run and gun gameplay but only in 3D and with new characters. In addition, to having a single player campaign mode Contra: Rouge Corps will have a co-op multiplayer mode both online and locally which will only add to the replay value of the game even more so than Contra III: Alien Wars.

For years many people thought that the Contra series was dead especially considering the fact that the last time we saw a new entry within the series was 2011 when Hard Corps: Uprising was released. The fact that Konami decided to revive this legendary run and gun series with a new 3D title is something that has many fans of the series on the edge of their seats. As it currently stands Contra: Hard Corps is curt set to be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows this upcoming Fall in September 2019. It will be interesting to see how successful Contra: Hard Corps will become following its upcoming release later in 2019.

Will Metroid Prime 4 appear at E3 2020?

As many people know Metroid Prime 4 did not appear at E3 2019 this year and that is something that comes as no surprise to many people. It was announced back in January 2019 that Metroid Prime 4 was in redevelopment as Retro Studios the video game developers that worked on the first three titles between 2002-2007 would be working on the upcoming action-adventure title for the Nintendo Switch. There is no doubt that Retro Studios will develop a well polished Metroid game the question that many people have involves when it will be released. Some are hoping for a reveal trailer for Metroid Prime 4 next year at E3 2020 but since redevelopment of the game began only a few months ago many people believe that it will be very unlikely. Metroid Prime 4 is way too early in development and its something that should not be rushed since many people have very high expectations for it.

The Metroid series is one of the most popular ones that Nintendo has next to the likes of Super Mario and The Legend Of Zelda which have all been around since the 80’s. If anything Nintendo should hold the upcoming release Metroid Prime 4 to similar standards to that of Super Mario Odessey or The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild. Once Metroid Prime 4 is released in the future it should end up becoming one of the top selling titles for the Nintendo Switch and a game that has lasting appeal throughout the 2020’s decade. While it would be nice to see a reveal trailer for Metroid Prime 4 in E3 2020 the game itself should be released sometime between 2021-2023.

Dragon Ball Z-Kakarot is a game that will be developed by CyberConnect2 and published by Square Enix that is set to be released sometime in early 2020 on a date that has yet to be revealed. The gameplay for Dragon Ball Z- Kakakot highly resembles that of DBZ: Xenoverse 1 & 2 which were both developed Dimps Corporation and released between 2015-2017. Trials Of Mana Coming to the PS4, Switch and PC in early 2020!!!!

As fas as blockbuster announcements are concerned in relation to Nintendo Switch the reveal trailer for the Trials Of Mana is something that everyone is talking about. The Trials Of Mana is a high definition remake of a JRPG classic known as Seiken Densetsu 3 which appeared exclusively in Japan for the SNES back in 1995. Since its release back in the mid 90’s Seiken Densetsu 3 was never released in America mainly due to how popular 3D gaming was starting to become during that era. Even though, the 2D version of Seiken Densetsu 3 was ported for the Nintendo Switch back in 2017 it was available exclusively in Japan before appearing America in the Collection Of Mana on June 11th this year. Seiken Densetsu 3 is a game that includes multiple characters with their own storylines & endings and is considered to be one of the most underrated Action-RPG’s for the SNES.

There are many people who question how successful Trials Of Mana will be in the future especially after the release Secret Of Mana HD in 2018. The Secret Of Mana HD was a game that was solid but at the same time did not live up to many people’s expectations because it felt somewhat different from the original 16-bit version of the game. Hopefully, Trials Of Mana will not have that same issue especially since Seiken Densetsu 3 was never officially released in American retail stores in the past. As it currently stands Trials Of Mana is expected to appear on the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in early 2020 and will be among the few RPG’s that Square Enix will have to offer better the second half of 2019 & 2020.
